Make a Difference In Your Career
Internships begin mid-May and end around April of the next year, although they can run longer depending on a variety of circumstances. The duties of a full-season intern depend on the needs of his or her department. The number of interns hired for a season, as well as their distribution among departments, may change yearly depending on our technical and casting needs.
Interns usually have at least an undergraduate level of college and are occasionally hired specifically for acting assignments. Work weeks are typically 60 hours and sometime longer during opening weeks but there is always at least one day off each week. Those interested in directing have an opportunity to Assistant Direct productions. Performers and technicians who have an eye towards directing are excellent candidates.
Current salary is $120/week and housing is provided.
The opportunity is there for you to make the most out of your internship. The more initiative an intern shows the more responsibility they are given. In past seasons our intern company has created and produced off night programming. Past interns have directed on the mainstage, written plays for our childrens' programs, composed music, and designed sets, lights, sound, and costumes. Some have served as music directors and technical directors.
Opportunities exist for interns to make their mark and help move the company forward while advancing their careers. If you want a job that will make a difference and if you want to make a difference in yourself and your career, check us out!
